New Haven Graduates 37 Men And Women To Their Future Careers

Stormy weather brought the graduation ceremony inside to the gym with several hundred families and friends packing the seats and stands for the ceremony. This year’s class of 37 graduates filed into the gym while the High School band played a processional. The ceremony started with opening remarks from graduate, Chris Wilson, who commented on the special qualities of the class of 2022, and called for a moment of silence for those that were not able to be present at the ceremony.

Next, Principal Tina Wnuk gave an inspiring and heartfelt speech of how unique the class of 2022 had been for her and the spirit and enthusiasm that they exhibited throughout their years in school.

Mrs. Wnuk then introduced the Salutorian, Logan Willams. Williams had participated in many sports and academic endeavors during high school and outlined what the years had meant for him and his fellow classmates.

Mr. Doug Peirick then awarded the scholarships that had been given by local businesses and organizations, and also 4 special scholarships awarded through the High School. These scholarships were featured in the June 1 edition of the New Haven Independent News.

The Valedictorian, Lucy Hoener, gave her speech about looking forward to the future for the class of 2022. Hoener’s speech was followed by the NHHS Choir signing “Friends Never Say Goodbye” with several members of the senior class taking their places with their fellow choir mates in the stands.

Graduate Mackenzie Wilson gave the closing remarks followed by graduate Adam Homeyer leading the school song and the tossing of the caps into the air, symbolizing the end of High School and moving onto their future endeavors.

Many proud parents and family and friends lingered after the ceremony to get many selfies and to share stories on this memorable day.
