Circuit Court Attendees Potentially Had Low-Risk Exposure To COVID-19

Individuals who were at the Franklin County Circuit Court on June 15 between 8:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. had low-risk exposure to COVID-19 and should self-monitor for symptoms. 

There is no need to self-quarantine or isolate unless symptoms develop.

COVID-19 is spread through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It spreads between people who are in close contact with one another.

Symptoms of COVID-19 include:

• Fever or chills

• Cough

• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

• Fatigue

• Muscle or body aches

• Headache

• New loss of taste or smell

• Sore throat

• Congestion or runny nose

• Nausea or vomiting

• Diarrhea

If symptoms do develop, seek medical attention.

The health department urges everyone to take appropriate precautions including good hygiene, social distancing and limiting in-person interactions. If you are sick, particularly with a fever and a cough, or shortness of breath, stay home and contact your health care provider or urgent care center for guidance regarding symptoms and next steps.

New Case

The county recorded its 200th case when a 64-year-old Pacific woman was diagnosed.

The health department reported it Friday morning.

However, three more people have recovered, lowering active cases to 38.

The patients are a 46-year-old Sullivan man and two St. Clair residents -- a 19-year-old male and 37-year-old female.
