Franklin County Reports 21st COVID-19 Related Death

Franklin County on Saturday said a 60-year-old Robertsville man is the 21st resident to die from COVID-19 complications.

This is the third resident to die from the virus in August. 

A 77-year-old Washington man’s death was reported Aug. 17 and 74-year-old Pacific woman’s death was reported Aug. 20.

The county also saw an escalating amount of cases. 

There were 30 reported Saturday.

From Monday through Friday, Franklin County reported 102 cases and 215 over the last 10 days.

The total count stands at 988.

The five-day average of new cases is 24.6 and the positivity rate on tests is up to 4.59 percent.

There are nine hospitalizations.
