Franklin County Reports 529 Cases, Four Deaths In August
Franklin County had 529 COVID-19 cases and four deaths in August.
The county saw it’s COVID-19 total double. There were 509 cases on Aug. 1 and the month ended with 1,038.
Four deaths were reported during the month after none since early June. There have been 23 total.
The latest two deaths were a 65-year-old Pacific woman and 87-year-old Grubville man.
According to the health department, there are seven residents in long-term care facilities who are active.
Hospitalizations have jumped to 12.
The positivity rate on tests is 4.66 percent, up from 3.48 percent on Aug. 1.
The five-day average of new cases is 19.2, up from 9.2 on Aug. 1.
Franklin County began September with 12 new cases.
