Ambulance District Honored For Heart Attack Procedures

The New Haven Ambulance District is one of only eight districts In Missouri  to receive the 2017 Mission: Lifeline EMS award from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.

The awards are presented annually for demonstrating continued success in using the Mission Lifeline program and applying the most up-to-date evidence-based treatment guidelines to improve patient care and outcomes.

Of the eight awards given to ambulance districts statewide, six are in Franklin County. “That just goes to show how good Franklin County is in their EMS,” New Haven EMS Chief Chris Miller said. Also receiving awards were Union, Washington, Gerald, St. Clair and Pacific.

EMS services are honored for quickly recognizing a heart attack and getting the patient to the cardiac catheterization team at the hospital in less than 90 minutes.
