Bertrand Restores Dee Dan Home With Emphasis On Local History

For Steve Bertrand, returning to the New Haven riverfront represents a new start to his post-retirement life.

Bertrand bought the old Dee Dann house at 111 Main St. in late June and has been busy renovating it this summer with help from Gary Willimann of Willimann Painting.

Bertrand did some interior work, mostly cosmetic, remodeling a  utility room to make a washer and dryer fit and refinishing the floors. “They were in terrible shape, down to the bare wood, but they turned out really well,” he said.
