Board Backs Gas Tax Hike For Highways

Will Generate $34,000 For City

A November ballot issue to increase the state gas tax by ten cents a gallon received the backing of the New Haven Board of Aldermen last week.

The measure would help pay for road and bridge repairs and fund the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Proposition D will go to state voters November 6, with a simple majority required for passage.
