Chamber Of Commerce Holds Annual Banquet At Camp Trinity

The Chamber held its annual award banquet at Camp Trinity on September 16, and packed the house with members and guests. The evening started with drinks and samples of wine from local wineries, Kuenzel and Robller. The guests were then treated to a scrumptious buffet style dinner followed by the awards.

Last year’s award banquet was postponed until this year and included awards for the Chamber Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award.

John Berger won Volunteer of the Year for his work with Kidsight eyesight testing that he and his fellow Lions Club members conducted in many local schools. Berger mentioned that they tested hundreds of kids and sometimes found up to 20% of the kids needing further attention and possibly corrective measures/glasses.

The Business of the Year went to Peoples Savings Bank, and the award was accepted by Warren Baulke, who outlined the expansion with other bank branches and how much they loved being part of the New Haven Community.

Finally, Bob and Gerry Mueller accepted the Lifetime Achievement Award, and they talked of their history in the community and how Lois, who passed away two years ago, was also to be remembered for making the winery what it is today.

Congratulations to all winners and may they inspire others in the community to continue making a difference.
