Countdown To Miller’s Landing Day
It’s the countdown to Miller’s Landing day, Saturday, May 29. Downtown New Haven will be buzzing with all kinds of events. Starting at 12 p.m., a children’s parade will march through the levee and main street followed by a frog race and a turtle race. Make sure to bring your own frog and your own turtle. There will also be a hula hoop contest and a jump rope contest for the kids.
For those interested in New Haven history, a Philip A. Miller Cemetery walk will happen at 3 p.m. Live music includes three bands with the first band, Betty Crawford and friends, starting at 12 p.m., followed by the Rowdy Wranglers at 3 p.m. Finishing up at 6 p.m. is Just Us, featuring Danny and Vicky Price.
In addition to all the regular events, there will be an art show at North Star Coffee, a square dancing from 4 to 6 p.m. and classic cars on display. Food and beverage vendors will be serving a variety of food and drink for hungry and thirsty festival goers.
The festival will be concluded by a fireworks display starting at around 9 p.m. Make sure to bring your lawn chairs to be able to comfortably view the festivities.
