EPA to Begin Hazmat Cleanup at Berger Site

The cleanup of hazardous waste at a warehouse near Berger by the Environmental Protection Agency is scheduled to begin this month.

Prosecutors say about 9 million pounds of the waste was transported from Yazoo City, Mississippi and stored at the Missouri  Green Materials warehouse over a period of time extending from October through December of 2013.

On April 26, 2107, a federal indictment was issued against US Technology Corporation of Ohio and Missouri Green Materials of Berger, owned by Daryl and Penny Duncan of Chicago, who at one time lived in Washington.
