Food Pantry, Friendship Plate Meeting Needs in New Haven
Donations are always welcome at the New Haven Food Pantry, whether it’s blistering hot outside or the chilly holiday season. The need never goes away.
Operated by New Haven Community Outreach, a non-profit group of local residents, the Food Pantry is located at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and is open the third Saturday of each month. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m.
The food is free and the pantry is open to anyone in need. “They just fill out a form when come to the food pantry,” said board member Emily Hischier.”It’s good if we know how many are in their family so if they’ve got kids, we give them some macaroni, things like that.”
