Independent Audit Gives City High Marks

The Board of Aldermen reviewed the details of an evaluation presented by Kevin Tochtrop of Tochtrop and Associates, P.C., a Certified Public Accountants and Professional Services firm out of Washington, MO, and went over the whole audit, explaining the firm’s evaluation.

Tochtrop gave the City of New Haven high marks in handling their budget and spending for the year. He complimented the staff in New Haven for being able to efficiently close out their books at year’s end. Tochtrop also explained that some other communities need to hire an accounting firm to help them just close the books before an audit can be done.

During the meeting, Tim Otten made sure to ask Tochtrop if this audit was done independently and that his firm has no connection to the city of New Haven. Tochtrop replied that was correct.
