Longer Shifts, New Command Structure Called Successful

New Haven Police officers are now working 12-hour shifts under the new command structure approved last month.

An ordinance increasing the threshold for overtime pay to more than 84 hours every two weeks—making the 12-hour shifts possible—was approved by the board of aldermen at its August meeting.
