Meet-and-Greet To Be Held At Police Department

A meet-and-greet event will be held at the New Haven Police Department at 1100 Olive Street on January 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will allow New Haven residents to get acquainted with Police Chief Chris Hammann, who started his new position on December 1, 2018. Donuts and coffee will be served, and guests will be offered a tour of the police department.

Hammann is originally from Jefferson City and is the former police chief of Vandalia. He served in the military in Oklahoma until 2010, when he moved back to his home state of Missouri to begin his law enforcement career. While on duty in Vandalia, he received the Merit Award for Excellent Arrest from the American Police Hall of Fame after arresting a criminal who assaulted him.
