Merchant Offers Two-Way Traffic Alternate Plan

For Front Street Downtown
An alternate plan for two-way traffic on Front Street is being proposed by one of the street’s shop owners.
Gary Rice, one of the owners of Astral Glass Studio and Gallery, described his proposal to other merchants at a meeting of Downtown New Haven Inc. last week.
Rice’s plan calls for narrower sidewalks than the initial drawings by Cochran Engineering , the city’s design firm for the Downtown Improvement project slated for 2020.
