New Brewery To Open In Downtown New Haven

Last week Shane and Stacy Camden announced that they are bringing a new brewery to downtown New Haven. The brewery will be known as the Paddle Stop Brewery and will be located in the back part of their facility with a large garage door opening to an extensive outdoor beer garden.

Stacy will be quitting her job as a teacher in the Webster Groves School District to devote her attention full-time to the brewery. This will be one of the first female led breweries in the state. They plan to have food available along with all their various beer brews.

In addition to the brewery, The Paddle Stop Brewery will be the new home for shows from the Riverfront Cultural Society a.k.a. RCS. After meeting with RCS’s board, they were excited to be able to expand their planned live music capacity from about 50 guests to around 100 guests and to also build a stage to accommodate RCS’s bands.

Besides the live music that RCS brings to town, they also plan to continue their international dinner nights and other special events that they have been known for in the past. The brewery will also have a new entrance different from the existing Paddle Stop entrance. The new entrance will be on the side of the building, going directly through the beer brewing area and entering into the tasting room and event space.

As a craft beer brewery, The Brewery will feature fermentation vessels made from wood. They are thought to be the only wood fermenting beer barrel system in the state of Missouri. Shane says that they plan to initially brew a paddler style light beer for people coming off the river wanting something nice and refreshing, and something similar to a Bud Light but with a little bit more of a distinctive taste. They also plan to have hanging hammocks out in the Beer Garden and cornhole boards to attract the cornhole aficionados. They’re planning for a fall opening.
