New Exhibits To Open Soon At Preservation Society

New historical exhibits from the area’s past are in store next month for visitors to the Old New Haven School building maintained by the New Haven Preservation Society.

The exhibits are housed in the basement of the building built in 1883 that was used as a school for 100 years. After it was vacated, a local group eventually raised the money to buy the building. The Preservation Society formed, purchased the building and began renovating it, according to David Menke, a New Haven historian.
