New Haven Was More Pleasant Eclipse Venue for Visitors, Residents Alike

For eclipse watchers, New Haven turned out to be the less crowded, picturesque alternative.

The total solar eclipse on August 21 drew thousands and thousands of people to Franklin County, but the crowds in New Haven seemed tame by comparison.

Robller Winery and the downtown area reported the most activity, and local bed and breakfasts were full for the most part. But traffic was normal with no problems reported.
