The Pink House Needs Paint

The two cute houses on the corner of Miller and Main downtown used to belong to the artist, Dee Dann. One gets all the attention because it is painted pink (faded and chipped in places, now) and has stenciled designs and intricate wood scroll work.

The owners have tried to have the house repainted in the pink color, but the historic district downtown does not have pink on their palette of approved colors. Therefore, the Board of Adjustments will meet and discuss the issue at their meeting on Monday, May 3 at the Public Works Building. The Board is used to settling disputes like this and can hopefully come to a solution that both the city and the homeowners can be pleased by.
