Talks Begin On Right Of Way

The Downtown Improvement Project is still a couple of years away, but discussions are already underway with the Union Pacific Railroad to see if it will allow any type of repaving project to go forward.

Downtown merchants voiced support for two-way traffic on Front Street at a meeting with the city’s planning firm, Cochran Engineering, in June.

Cochran showed them one possible two-way configuration at that meeting. Merchants have since presented their own plan featuring narrower sidewalks and angled parking.
