Riverfront Camping Approved

At Designated Sites
Rules and regulations for camping at designated sites along the Missouri River levee are now in place.
A committee of Police Chief Dan Terry, City Administrator Kathleen Trentmann and downtown merchant Gary Rice formulated the proposal based largely on Missouri State Park rules. It was approved by the board of aldermen last week.
The rules limit camping to two nights under most circumstances and sets a “quiet time” of 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Four campsites will be available at a small campground described as due north of the John Colter Memorial.
