Youth Fair Starts Friday

Medals Will Be Awarded For Pig Scramble

It’s Youth Fair time again with the community is gearing up for events beginning Friday at the American Legion grounds off Highway 100.

The fair opens at 1 p.m. Friday with a series of livestock shows featuring local youth showing animals they raised. Livestock shows continue on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.

The Youth Fair Queen Contest starts at 7 p.m. Friday in the American Legion parking lot, with 12 girls vying for the crown. The talent portion is at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 607 Maupin Ave.

The Pig Scramble begins at 8 p.m. Friday. Participants need to check in between 5 and 7:30 p.m. for a chance to chase pigs through the mud on the lower Legion grounds as they compete for medals.
