Zia’s New Age Transformation A Definite “Yes”

This week Zia’s is planning to transform their gallery into a yoga studio, healing center, and new age shop. They will be carrying an assortment of healing crystals, smudge sticks, candles, incense, and jewelry. This weekend will be the grand opening and will feature the shop, yoga classes and a tour of the guest suites available upstairs.

Owner Laura Kohnen was asked by several local people if they thought that people in town would be interested in reiki and other new age activities and Kohnen responded with a definite, “Yes.” Kohnen has noticed that she is the only new age shop in the Washington/New Haven/Hermann area and the next closest new age shops are The Enchanted Attic in St. Charles and Mystic Valley in St. Louis.

Zia’s will be open the first Saturday of each month with private classes and guest suites available upon registration. The classes will be for women only to begin with and expand to include men at a future date.

During the grand opening, shoppers can get a card punched from the other downtown shops and be entered into a drawing for one of three downtown merchant gift baskets with glass art from Astral Glass and assorted Pinckney Bend Products. Kohnen will also conduct 10 to 15 minute guided meditations for attendees and shoppers.

For more information, stop in for the grand opening and check for upcoming classes.
