Board Eyes Ordinance to Curb Illegal Dumping at Compost Site

An ordinance prohibiting the dumping of non-yard waste items at the city compost site will be considered at the New Haven Board of Aldermen’s August meeting.

The ordinance comes in response to numerous complaints of illegal dumping at the site on Highway 100, just inside the eastern city limits.

The site is intended for small to medium size limbs, brush and other yard waste that can be run through a chipper or made into compost.
