Public Hearing Set on Water Rate Increase
Tue, 08/22/2017 - 12:55pm
Water rates will be going up 3 to 3.5 percent per year through 2019 under a proposal advanced by the New Haven Board of Aldermen at its August meeting last week.
A public hearing on the plan is set for 7 p.m. on Monday, September 11, at the start of the board’s next monthly meeting.
City Administrator Lori Quick said the increases are needed to fund numerous water projects in the years ahead. In current fiscal year, that will include $115,000 to paint the interior of the water tower on Highway 100, plus waterline replacement on Maupin and Mary Hammack.
