Local Couple Honored With Human Rights Award

Every year at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration at East Central College, Church Women United gives out the Human Rights Award to an individual or couple that has made significant contributions toward promoting human rights within their community. This year the award went to Paul and Ann Schwartzkopf, who have lived in New Haven since moving here six years ago to be closer to their daughter, Alison Tucker, her husband John and their grandson Robert.

The Schwartzkopfs both work with the organization Neighbors United - Undoing Racism, which works to promote understanding between people of different races within a community.
