John L. Rucker, Jr.
John L. Rucker, Jr., 67, of Hermann, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at his home.
John was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29, 1952, a son of the late John L. Sr. and Pauline G. (Dempsey) Rucker.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1975-1977. He worked as an operation manager for Hudson Services Company.
John is survived by two sons, Tyler Rucker and wife Dawn, of Washington, Missouri; and Nicholas Rucker and Amanda McDaris, of New Haven, Missouri; his partner, Amanda Shipley, of Hermann, Missouri; by his grandchildren, Izzabella, Nicholas, Kora, Ashton, Gamble, Dash, Nathanial, Noah, and Madison, by his sisters, Sandra Remedies and husband Joseph, of Zwolle, Louisiana; Elizabeth Eldringhoff, of Hermann, Missouri; Karen Remondet and husband Myron, of Reserve, Louisiana; Debbie Haley and Tom Busch, of New Haven, Missouri; Patty Rucker, of Hermann, Missouri; and Pam Deslatte and husband Donald, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; and a brother, Jimmy Rucker, of Hermann, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Verus “Junior” Eldringhoff.
John was a member of the Hermann Eagles. He enjoyed going to the Eagle Hall and spending time with family and friends there. He also enjoyed playing golf, watching football, gambling, and going to Mardi-Gras. He loved being in the outdoors and going root hunting.
Visitation was held Sunday, March 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m., with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.
