Downtown Was Bustling With Business On Saturday

Several downtown merchants were excited to see lots of tourists stopping in to discover New Haven. Elizabeth’s, Astral Glass, Lang-A-Tang Deli, Northstar Coffee, Lizzy Lu’s Wreaths, and Pinckney Bend Distillery were having a good day. Pinckney Bend’s new covered tasting area makes a comfortable and easy access to tasting their signature cocktails. Astral Glass will soon open for demonstrations once more people are vaccinated and public attendance is safer. Lang-A-Tang was serving up tasty BBQ from their menu and Northstar Coffee was inviting coffee drinkers with their iced drinks.

Pinckney Bend Owner, Ralph Haynes remarked that, “It was good to see that New Haven is reaching a tipping point where tourists and locals are discovering the cool shops that are in and others that are getting ready to open in downtown.”

Paddle Stop owner Shane Camden was happy with the effect caused by the Hoffmann Family Companies investing in Augusta. Washington, New Haven and Hermann are feeling a surge from the interest in the area.
