New Haven Middle Takes Third In Hermann’s Open
Tuesday, March 30, Bearcat Stadium hosted Hermann’s Open Middle School Track Meet. New Haven joined other middle school teams to compete in a variety of track and field events, including 100+ Meter dashes, hurdles, relays, shot put, discus, and several jumps. Both Boys’ and Girls’ teams ended up placing third overall, with several students placing individually.
For girls, with 67 points overall, Lexi Yochim of New Haven took third in the 100 Meter Dash. Tatum Scheer and Brookelyn Vogelsang took third and fourth respectively in the 200 Meters. Tatum also took first in both the Triple Jump and the Long Jump. Janelle Cronin took second for the 1600 Meters. For the 4x200 Relay, New Haven’s team of Tatum Scheer, Brookelyn Vogelsang, Bailey Fleer, and Morgan Guehne took first. Then Alayna Lagemann threw her Shot Put over 8 meters and landed in second.
The boys were just as impressive with 68 points overall. Lewis Wray was third in the 200 Meters, then took first in the 400 Meters with Mark Brune following in third. Lewis also took first in the Long Jump. Tielar Mahurin took second in Shot Put and third in Discus. Jackson Cooper took third in both the High Jump and the Triple Jump.
