Shamrocks Scratched By Wildcats But Soar Over Eagles
Last week, on April 6, the Shamrocks played Wright City at home and came up with a loss of 18-2. The Wright City team came out tough and swinging. The two Shamrock runs were scored by Owen Borcherding and Matthew Otten, though Jake Engelbrecht, Mitchell Meyer, William Hellmann, August Panhorst, and Emmett Panhorst all had hits. Mitchell Meyer had an RBI. Matthew Otten, August Panhorst and Charlie Roth all pitched.
On April 8, the Shamrocks collided with Union and came up short with an 18-3 loss. Owen Borcherding scored 1 run and Jake Engelbrecht scored 2. Owen Borcherding and Charlie Roth each had 1 hit and Jake Engelbrecht had 2. Mitchell Meyer and Charlie Roth each had an RBI.
On April 9, the Shamrocks turned around their losing streak. Though Grandview lead 4-0 after two innings, New Haven fought back to defeat Grandview 6-5. Player stats for the game were not available at press time.
