New Haven Lions Club Celebrates 67 Years In The Community Of New Haven
On April 12, 1954 the New Haven Lions Club became a charter club through the Lions Club International, which is over 100 years old, has 1.4 million Lions worldwide, 47,000 clubs and is in 200-plus countries.
Their mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through the Lions Clubs.
New Haven Lions Club has made many donations to the Community over the years. This includes support of the New Haven Park Board for tennis court, Christmas light decorations, HOBY, Missouri Boys State, hosted group of international foreign exchange students, New Haven High School scholarships, Easter Egg Hunt, New Haven Little League, eye glasses for those needing assistance, and KidSight vision screenings for schools.
These donations are made possible through fundraising events including Candy Days, Pancake Dinner, serving BBQ at the Community Youth Fair and other fundraising events during the year.
