Shamrocks Outpacing Their Competitors In Track
On Tuesday, New Haven’s track team competed at the Don Olszowka Invitational in Union and accumulated more points than rival, Steelville. On Thursday, the New Haven Girls team won the meet title at Cuba, beating out the other 12 teams. Top finishers in the Cuba Invitational were Gracie Steele, Hannah Rethemeyer, Madison Langenberg, and Emma McIntyre in the 3200 meter relay with a time of 10:44.87; Girls 800 meter relay of Casey Baker, Julia Faris, Grace Faris and Brande Kubiak with a time of 1:58. 33; Emma McIntyre in the 1600 meter and the 3200 meter; Hunter Talent in the 1600 and 800 meter runs; and Girls 400 meter relay of Peyton Sumpter, Julia Faris, Grace Faris and Brande Kubiak.
Second place finishers were Hannah Rethemeyer in the 800 meter run, Grace Faris in the girls pole vault, Peyton Sumpter in the triple jump and Lexi Feldmann in the shot put.
Finally, the third place finishers were Gracie Steele in the girls 200 meter dash; boys 1600 meter relay of Hunter Tallent, John Liggett, Adam Homeyer and Logan Williams; Casey Baker in the girls high jump; and Ellie Westermeyer in discus.
