Cancer Patient Catches A Dream

Justin Aquino, a cancer patient from Miami Florida, came to New Haven last week with his family to participate in the Catch-A-Dream Foundation. This foundation, founded in mid-2000, provides hunting and fishing trips to those 18 and younger with a life-threatening illness across the United States and Canada. It aims to fill the gap left by  the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s policy which precludes any child’s wish which involves “…firearms, hunting bows, or other hunting or sport-shooting equipment.”

Ricky Flynt, a designated Catch-A-Dream host, brought Justin and his family to New Haven to stay at the Central Hotel and go out for a turkey hunt early Saturday morning. Outfitter Tracy Langenberg organized the hunt, and, within a couple of hours, Justin got his prize turkey.
