Pride Of New Haven Yard Of The Month Winners

Congratulations to John and Paula Backes-Tanner, recipients of the Pride of New Haven Yard of the Month Contest in May and Nancy and Tim Wardensky, recipients in June. In addition to a sign placed in their yards designating the honor, John and Paula received a gift certificate donated by Tonia Unger Gardens and the Wardenskys received a gift certificate donated by New Haven Farm and Feed.

Pride of New Haven Yard of the Month is jointly sponsored by the City of Haven and the New Haven Garden Club. We are elated with the interest it has generated in the community and would like to express gratitude to our local merchants for their support. This program offers the many imaginative and avid gardeners locally an outlet to express their creativity and talent and be recognized for their efforts.

• The contest is open to residents living within the corporate limits of New Haven.

• The contest will run from May 1 through Sept 30.

• Applications can be picked up at Seitter’s Market or the Scenic Regional Library Branch.

• Contest entrants are only required to complete one application per season.

• Completed applications can be e-mailed to city hall; hard copy applications may be mailed or deposited in the drop box on the west side of the city hall building.

• The judging will be competed between the first and tenth of each month.
