Andrew Sullentrup

Andrew “Andy” Joseph Sullentrup, 85 years 10 months 29 days, of New Haven joined his beloved son in Heaven, Monday June 21, 2021.

Andy was born July 23, 1935 to Oscar Sullentrup and Veronica nee Brune, eldest of five children. On September 22, 1956 he married the love of his life, Laverne nee Guese.

Most of his working years were spent as a meatcutter. He was a proud Washington Elk’s member, an avid fisherman, hunter, washer player, bird watcher, and loved a BBQ and a beer. One of his favorite places to take his boat was Kentucky Lake. He was always quick with a joke. He and his wife loved going to wineries, listening to music, and dancing. He was a loving grandpa to three grandchildren, and was about to be a great-grandpa.

He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Laverne; three daughters, Debbie Groebl and husband Donnie of Swiss; Dee Sawyers and husband Reuben of Manchester, Kentucky; Kristin Hagedorn and husband Tim of Marthasville; three grandchildren, Cassie Mundwiller and husband Josh of Swiss; Brandon and Robbie Hagedorn of Marthasville. Two brothers; Earl and Oscar Sullentrup and sister Anna Heppermann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Howard and son, Kevin Andrew.

Visitation was held Friday, June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.
