Investigation Ongoing In Gerald Double Shooting

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, Franklin County Deputies, the Gerald PD, Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District and the Gerald Area Ambulance District responded to the 1500 block of Flottmann Road in Gerald due to a 911 call from an unidentified female who reported a double shooting. She told dispatchers that she had been shot twice and the alleged perpetrator had shot himself.

Upon arrival, emergency medical services airlifted the two to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment. While the female victim is expected to make a full recovery from her wounds, the male suspect’s condition is as yet unknown. 

While their identities have not been disclosed at this time, it has been revealed that the two are related by marriage. There is no evidence of additional suspects or victims, but the investigation is ongoing.
