Late Rally Sinks Post 366 Despite Strong Start

New Haven lost grip of a two-run lead to Washington Post 218 Navy, who rallied to six runs to hand Post 366 a 12-8 loss on Wednesday, June 19.

Luke Diener and James Orf both tallied two runs, a hit, an RBI and a walk.

Evan Scheer and Weston Hecktor broke away with two RBIs and a hit.

Ben Gilbert stacked up two runs and a hit.

Andrew Gildehaus captured a run and a hit.

Carter Humphrey recorded a run and a walk.

Creten Page drove in an RBI.

Anthony Groner took a walk.

Post 366 posted eight runs, 7 RBIs, six hits and four walks on 28 at-bats.

Groner pitched the first five innings for Post 366. He hurled two strikeouts while surrendering six earned runs, five walks and three hits.

Hecktor came in relief on the mound at the bottom of the 6th. He gave up three earned runs, two walks and a hit during his short stint.

Ayden Keen was next in rotation, striking out a batter and allowing three walks.

Wyatt Meyer was New Haven’s final pitcher to take the hill.
