Volleyball Balls Out With Seven Wins In Week Two
Volleyball won seven of its nine games during week two and now holds a 9-2 record.
The Shamrocks opened up against St. Francis Borgia on Tuesday, Sept. 10. They lost the duel to the Lady Knights, falling 25-15, 25-9 and 25-16.
Two days later, New Haven rebounded with a home sweep over Montgomery County. They were uncontested in all three sets, winning 25-15, 25-13 and 25-13.
The Shamrocks spent last weekend at the Saint Francis Health Dig For Life Challenge Tournament. They tied for third out of fifty teams and went 4-1 at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
New Haven opened the meet with shutouts over Eminence (25-18, 25-15) and Viburnum (25-17, 25-10) on Friday, Sept. 13.
They kicked off the following morning with clean sweeps over Malden (25-10, 25-10) and New Madrid (25-11, 25-17).
The Shamrocks then faced Scott City. They won the first set 25-20 but lost the following contest 25-18. They rebounded with a 25-21 victory in the third match to take the series.
New Haven lost their final game of the day to Hillsboro in two sets (25-21, 25-15).
