New Haven Volleyball Wins Consolation At Hermann Invitational
New Haven’s varsity volleyball team (15-7-2) won consolation at the Hermann Invitational last week.
The Shamrocks started pool play with a tie to Owensville on Tuesday, Oct. 1. They fell 25-21 in their first set but rebounded with a 25-18 win in their second.
New Haven continued to fight with grit but dropped its next two matches. First, they lost 25-20 and 25-19 to the St. Louis Panthers, then 25-17 and 25-14 to Pacific.
The Shamrocks beat Washington in consolation on Thursday, Oct. 3. They swept them in two sets: 25-21 and 25-14.
Alayna Lagemann led the Shamrocks with 54 attacks, 36 points, 24 kills and 12 blocks at the tournament.
Morgan Guehne had a team-high 17 assists. She also racked up 53 attacks, 8 points, seven kills and an ace.
Isabella Groner grabbed 38 attacks, 36 assists, 15 scores, 11 kills and four aces.
Katie Holtmeyer tallied 35 attacks, 13 points, eight kills, four aces and a block.
Megan Hoerstkamp hauled in 18 attacks, nine assists and six aces.
Lesly Gerlemann launched 15 attacks, two kills and two blocks.
Emma Gerdes fired 14 attacks and an ace.
Avery Strubberg made 13 attacks, six kills and two blocks. She only played against Owensville.
Chesni Jones and Rachel Otten recorded an attack.
