Betty J. Niewald
Betty J. Niewald, 77, of New Haven, MO, passed away Monday, May 4, 2020 at her home.
Betty was born in Owensville, Missouri on April 2, 1943, a daughter of the late Warren and Mildred (Asher) Branson.
Betty was the wife of Ervin W. Niewald. They were united in marriage on March 12, 1960, at Presbyterian Church, Owensville, MO.
Betty was a member of Church of Christ, Owensville, Missouri, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, New Haven, and New Haven Fire Department Women's Auxiliary.
Betty worked as a cook at Kellwood and for the New Haven School District for many years. She also worked at New Haven Care Center and part-time for Barreth Chrysler, Shelter Insurance, New Haven Ice Cream Shop, and she was an Avon Representative.
Betty is survived by her husband Ervin, of the home; by two daughters, Debbie Freitag and husband David, of New Haven, MO; and Rhonda Grannemann and husband Dave, of New Haven, MO; a son, Michael Niewald, of New Haven, MO; by two sisters, Brenda Creacy, of Ranger, TX; and Robin Peters and husband Gus, of Aurora, CO; by a sister-in-law, Nada Branson, of Denver, CO; by her grandchildren, Denise Berlekamp and husband Jeff, of St. Louis, MO; Daniel Freitag and wife Erica, of New Haven, MO; Todd Grannemann and wife Sarah, of New Haven, MO; Erin Lewis and husband Andrew, of Lake City, PA; Alyssa Niewald, of Nampa, ID; and Nathan, Savannah, and Jackson Niewald, of Coupeville, WA, and great-grandchildren, Emma, Addison, Grayson, Tatum, Margaret, Darcy, and Olivia. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Ron Branson.
Betty enjoyed reading, fishing, bird watching, and being with family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She especially loved Christmas and celebrating her family's birthdays.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 7 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m., with Rev. James Niewald officiating.
Burial will be at Country Side Memorial Gardens, Owensville, MO. Memorials may be given to New Haven Care Center or American Diabetes Association. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
