Carl C. Westemeyer, Jr., 75, of Vancouver, WA, formerly of Moscow Mills, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at Vancouver Group Home, Vancouver, Washington.

Carl was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on August 2, 1943, a son of the late Carl  C. Westemeyer, Sr. & Dorothy (Schwartz) Marsch. He was also raised in south St. Louis, and it was there that he soon found a passion for Cardinal baseball. Growing up watching the Cardinal greats including Stan Musial, Tim McCarver, Bob Gibson, Curt Flood, Lou Brock, and many others, he often later told stories of memorable baseball moments including his visits to the 1964 and 1967 World Series. Baseball continued to be a passion for him throughout his life as he thoroughly enjoyed watching the Cards, whether it was on TV or at the stadium.

Carl met Dorothy Pfautsch, of Berger, MO, in 1967 and they married the next year. They adopted their only child, Charles, in 1975. Carl was a strong family man known for his jovial spirit and keen sense of humor. He was beloved by family, friends, and co-workers.

Carl was a former member of  St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri. He worked as a machinist for Hager Hinge in St. Louis, Missouri, for over 10 years and later worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing as a material handler for 32 years with the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Worker until his retirement.

He was the widower of Dorothy L. (Pfautsch) Westemeyer. Dorothy preceded him in death on July 30, 2007.

Carl is survived by a son, Charles Westemeyer, of Vancouver, Washington; a granddaughter Jewel Nicole Westemeyer, of Saint Peters, Missouri, and a sister, Barbara Ramsey, of Augusta, Georgia.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Church, Berger, Missouri, where a funeral mass will follow at 11 a.m., with Father John Deken officiating.

Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery, Berger. Memorials  may be given to Alzheimer's Association. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
