Clinton J. Kell
April 25, 1943 - September 2, 2019
Clinton J. Kell, 76, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of New Haven, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at his home. He was born on April 25, 1943, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Frank and Mildred Kell.
Clinton grew up in Dixon, Missouri, and graduated from Dixon High School in 1961. He went on to attend Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He was the Chief Financial Officer of Motor Appliance Corporation in Washington, Missouri, for nearly 40 years, before retiring in 2012.
On November 23, 1966, he married Melissa Null. They were married for 53 years and made their home in New Haven, Missouri, before moving to Marshfield in 2004, and then to Warsaw in 2014.
Clinton was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues and was thrilled to have watched them win a Stanley Cup in his lifetime. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Rams football fan for many years until the teams broke his heart when they “skipped” town.
He coached youth softball in New Haven for many years and always had time for a catch with his daughters, grandchildren and the many players he coached over the years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Almeda Aaron and Ellen Barnes, and one brother, David Kell.
Clinton is survived by his wife, Melissa Kell, and his two daughters, Michelle Luebbert, and her husband, Randy, and Clarissa Hawes, and her husband, Don of Grain Valley, Missouri,
He fiercely loved his six grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew and Lauren Luebbert, and Kellen, McKenna and Quinlan Holland. He traveled across the country to watch them play sports or participate in any activity. They will miss “their biggest fan” being in the stands.
He is also survived by one sister, Reetta Reese and her husband, Bob, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
A visitation was held on September 7 at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.
