Darlene T. Hoffmann

Darlene T. Hoffmann, 78, of New Haven, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Grandview Healthcare Center, Washington.

Darlene was born in Hermann, MO, on March 22, 1939, a daughter of the late Joseph and Irma (Baries) Speckhals.

She was the wife of Gary Hoffmann. They were united in marriage on August 2, 1958, at St. Peters United Church of Christ, New Haven. Gary survives at the home.

Darlene is also survived by their four children, Kirk Hoffmann and wife Karen, of New Haven; Connie Herbert and husband Joe, of St. Charles; Patty Riegel and friend Barry Thomas, of New Haven; and Kathy Schaffer and husband Chuck, of Washington, by 11 grandchildren, Jana Cunningham and husband Randy, Danny McDonald and wife Kate, Cali Beul and husband Danny, Kyle, Kelly and Kimberly Hoffmann, Adam Riegel and wife Ashleigh, Josh Riegel, Brandon and Nick Schaffer and Rachel Sharpe and by eight great-grandchildren, Macy Hodge and husband Joe, Matthew and Madison Barbarick, Kennedy Parker, Taylor and Paige Beul, Miles McDonald, and Bailey Riegel. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by a son-in-law Kurt Riegel.

Darlene was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, where she was a member of the quilters group. She worked for Langenberg Hat Factory and was a homemaker.

Darlene was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time with her family. She loved sewing, quilting and spending time with her lady friends.

Visitation was held Wednesday, June 28, from 4-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating.

Burial took place at St. Peter's Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Quilters Group or St. Peter's U.C.C. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
