Don W. Rethemeyer

Don W. Rethemeyer, 69, of New Haven, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Mercy Hospital, Washington, Missouri.

Don was born in Washington, Missouri on October 1, 1948, a son of the late Louis C. & Alice Anna (Lefman) Rethemeyer.

He was the husband of Linda L. (Summers) Rethemeyer. They were united in marriage on July 31, 1971, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, New Haven. She survives at the home.

Don is also survived by their two children, Keith Rethemeyer & wife Ruth, of New Haven, and Tina Madden & husband James, of New Haven, by seven grandchildren, Joseph, Hannah, Andrew, Austin, Alex, Abraham, and Anna, by one great granddaughter Brooklyn, by his mother-in-law, Connie Summers, of New Haven, by a brother-in-law Jerry Summers & wife Jeannie, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, by two sisters-in-law Judy Reed, of Houston, Texas and Tracy Menz, of New Haven, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Shirley (Nixon) Rethemeyer.

Don was affiliated with the Trinity Lutheran Church, New Haven. He worked for New Haven Filter Company for 31 years as a salesman. He also drove a truck for several years for Select Transport, of Pacific, Missouri.

In his free time Don enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. He also enjoyed woodworking, going and watching his grandchildren participate in sporting activities, and spending time in the outdoors, especially doing yard work.

Visitation was held Saturday, January 20th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Haven, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., with Rev. Jacob Ehrhard & Rev. Herman Otten officiating and Andrew Finck serving as the organist.

Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Camp Trinity or New Haven Athletic Boosters.
