Evelyn Mabel (Hahne) Stocklin, 88, of Austin, TX, passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital,  Round Rock, Texas.

Evelyn was born in Stony Hill, Missouri, on August 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Benjamin Gustav & Nora Susan (Maupin) Hahne.  Evelyn taught school at two one-room schoolhouses in rural Gasconade County from 1951 to 1953, and received a bachelor's degree in education from Central Missouri State College, Warrensburg, Missouri, in 1954.  She taught elementary school in St. Louis and Rolla, Missouri, teaching school a total of eight years.  

Evelyn was the loving wife of the late William H. Stocklin for 62 years.  They were united in marriage August 4, 1956, at St. James Church, Stony Hill. William preceded her in death on May 24, 2019. She stayed home to raise her five children from 1960-1979. 

She was a member of the Church of Christ in both Poughkeepsie, New York, and Austin, Texas.  She also led a neighborhood Bible class in LaGrangeville, New York, for several years.  In the 1980s, after moving to Texas, she became a successful real estate broker and realtor, an occupation she held for more than 30 years.  

Mrs. Stocklin was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Helen Pelster, brothers-in-law Russell Pelster, Norville Stocklin and Norris Rohlfing, and sister-in law Lorraine Rohlfing. Evelyn is survived by four daughters, Mary Hollingsworth and husband John, Barbara Steely and husband Jim, Lisa Greenstein and husband Lee, Catherine Peterson and husband Daniel, son, William Stocklin Jr. and wife Sharie; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Hollingsworth) Schackmann, Dana Hollingsworth, Shelley Hollingsworth, Rachel Greenstein, Cedonia Peterson, Justin Peterson, Olivia Peterson, David Peterson, and Ella Stocklin; great-grandchildren, Silas, Savannah and Moses Schackmann; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Stocklin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A private family internment will be at St. James Cemetery, Stony Hill, Missouri, with Rev. Tom Lloyd officiating. A public Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.
