Jerry T. Scott

Jerry T. Scott, age 74, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 24, 2017. He was born July 25, 1943 in Russellvillle, AR to Alabama and Leonard Scott.

He’s survived by his wife of 50 years, Pat (Shoemaker) Scott, his 3 daughters Kim, Carrie, and Rachel. His grandchildren Diego, Santiago, Tristen, Olivia, Greyson, son-in-law’s Abel and Mario, sister Bobbie, brother Gerald, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Pat and Jerry were married September 10, 1966 in Washington, MO.

Jerry was a proud Vietnam veteran that served as a part of the 101st Airborne Infantry division and was a graduate of Southern Illinois University. He was a hard worker with a successful career in IT Consulting and received many accolades.

Jerry settled his family in Bedford, TX where he spent his free time tending to his beloved koi pond, banana trees, and blooming flowers. He listened to the frogs at night and watched his water lilies open each morning. Despite his humble roots as a sharecropper’s son, he persevered to provide for his family and educate his children. To say his gregarious spirit will be missed cannot capture the empty place we feel in his absence. Much appreciation, Big Daddy, for all you did for us. May you rest in peace.

Visitation was held Thursday, August 31st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri, where funeral services was held Friday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at New Haven Cemetery, with full military honors.
