Lester G. Kleinheider, 93, of Hermann, MO, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018 at New Haven Care Center.

Lester was born in Washington, MO, on August 18, 1924, a son of the late George and Hilda (Busch) Kleinheider.

He was the widower of Tootie Marie (Gadcke) Kleinheider. They were united in marriage on January 12, 1952, in Coronado, CA. She preceded him in death on September 15, 2012.

Lester proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He was a member of St. George Church, Hermann.

  1. worked at Seco Manufacturing in Washington as a press operator until retirement. After retirement he painted at Stone Hill Winery for many years. There wasn't anything that Lester couldn't do. Whether it was carpentry work, or mechanical work, he could fix anything. He also enjoyed buying and trading cars.

Lester is survived by a son, Randy Kleinheider and wife Debbie, of New Haven; by three sisters, Sister LaVerne Kleinheider, of St. Louis, MO; Donna Alferman and husband Herbie, of Washington, MO; and Agnes Westhoelter, of Washington; by six grandchildren, Crystal LaRose and husband Eric; Heather McCarty and husband Jon; Josh Kleinheider and wife Kristen; Shane Kleinheider and wife Rachel; Steph Lowe and husband Chris; and Taryn Kleinheider, all of New Haven, by 12 great-grandchildren, and by many nieces, nephews, and loved ones.

Visitation was held Wednesday, February 7th from 4-8 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. George Church, Hermann, with Rev. Msgr. Gregory Higley officiating.

Burial was at Oak Haven Memorial Gardens, Hermann.

Memorials may be given to St. George Church or Hermann Area Crusade Against Cancer. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.
