Lorene K. Menke, 97, of New Haven, MO, passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.

 

Lorene was born in Berger, Missouri on December 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Edwin & Ella (Knurbein) Kemper.

 

She was the widow of Virgil H. Menke.

 

Lorene was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven.  She worked at Lengenburg Hat Company.

 

Lorene loved her children and grandchildren greatly and was so proud of their accomplishments.  She also loved to cook for them, especially her dinner rolls.

 

She enjoyed writing and receiving letters and keeping up on current events, cutting wood and grass, watching cooking shows and cooks books and loved music, especially Jerry Lee Lewis.

 

Lorene is survived by a son, Duane Kemper & wife Carol, of Foristell, Missouri; daughter, Donna Kreftmeyer & husband Daniel, of New Haven, Missouri; daughter, Mona Strobel, of New Haven, Missouri; son, Randy Menke & wife Phyllis, of Berger, Missouri; son, Kirby Menke & wife Brenda, of New Haven, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Terri Menke, of New Haven, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Cullen, Erin, Kimberly, Kurt, Kent, Ryan, Brandon, Brittany, Abby and Andrew and six great grandchildren. 

 

She was reunited with her parent, her husband, a son, Wendy Menke, a son-in-law, Tim Strobel, and a sister, Corine Ebker.

 

Lorene's expressed wishes were for a private family graveside service to be held at St. John's Cemetery, Berger. Memorials may be given to Wendy Menke Light Fund or St. Peter's U.C.C.
