Marie Lydia Egley-Watkins

Marie Lydia Egley-Watkins, 80, of New Haven, MO, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven, Missouri.

Marie was born in Berger, Missouri on August 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Albert & Frieda J. (Kuhn) Egley.

Marie was a journalist and editor for New Haven Leader Publishing Company for several years.  She also sold real estate for many years and worked at several other businesses throughout the years.

Marie was affiliated with St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill.  She was a member of Sweet Adeline's Music Group.  Marie was a gifted vocalist and pianist, she loved playing music.  She also enjoyed art, writing, photography, and doing arts and crafts.

Marie is survived by a son, Robb Watkins & wife Leah, of Wentzville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jordyn Watkins, of Leslie, Missouri and Evan Watkins, of Wentzville, Missouri; two sisters, Dorothy Kugel, of Hinsdale, Illinois; and Carol Rohlfing, of Rhineland, Missouri; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia Egley, of St. Peters, Missouri; and Kay Egley, of Phoenix, Arizona.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Robert, Albert Jr., John & Larry Egley.

Visitation will be  Thursday, December 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Tom Lloyd officiating.

Burial will be at St. James Cemetery, Stony Hill, Missouri. Memorials may be given to New Haven Care Center Activities Fund.
