Robert Humphrey

Robert Elvin Humphrey, 92, of Leslie, MO, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan, Missouri.

Robert was born in Iberia, Missouri on September 28, 1928, a son of the late Flora ( nee Willson) and Dora Humphrey.

Mr. Humphrey proudly served his country in the  U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. John’s E & R Church, Casco, MO. Robert enjoyed being a 4-H leader. His specialty was teaching youngsters horsemanship. He loved being around and working with horses, he also coached girls softball.

He worked as a Laborer doing residential construction during his working years.

He was the husband of Marythea J. (nee Arrington) Humphrey. They were married on June 25, 1950 at Port Orchard, Washington.

Robert is survived by his wife Marythea Humphrey, of the home; by two daughters, LaRayne Brune and husband Dennis, of New Haven; and Laura  Placht and husband Edward, of New Haven;  by a son, Steve Humphrey and wife  Brenda, of Leslie; by three sisters, Marilyn and Jane Luechtefeld, and Janet Abernathy, and a brother Roy Humphrey and wife Joyce, by sisters-in-laws Janet and Arlene Humphrey, Linda Arrington and Norma Vandeberg, by 7 grandchildren, and 18 great- grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers William & Harold Humphrey and a brother-in-law, Daniel Arrington.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, January 20 at 10 a.m. at the St. John’s E & R Church Cemetery, Casco.
